Founding Patrons provide leadership-level institutional support during the Academy’s formative chapter.
• Participation reflects long-term belief in the institution
• Support is strategic and foundational
• Recognition, if any, is private and at the Academy’s discretion
• Patronage helps establish permanence, not visibility
Founding Donors contribute to the mission and continuity of the Academy at levels aligned with their capacity and intent.
• Contributions may be one-time or recurring
• Donors support the institution, not specific outcomes
• Recognition is optional and non-promotional
• Every contribution matters to the institutional whole
All Founding Patrons and Donors are permanently recognized as part of the founding chapter* of AFAAS™. (*Please note: The "founding chapter” refers solely to the Academy’s inaugural historical period and does not imply governance, membership, or authority. )
• Annual, Academy-governed national institution

• America 250 as an inaugural moment — not a one-off event
• Long-term institutional continuity and preservation
• No advertising, no endorsements, no transactional benefits
The Academy governs multiple programs under its authority, including:
• America First Honors™ — non-competitive legacy recognition
• America First Awards™ — non-competitive cultural recognition
Patrons and Donors do not influence:
Their role is to ensure the institution endures, not to shape its decisions.
