The America First Academy of Arts & Sciences™ (AFAAS™) is an independent, academy-governed institution established to recognize enduring excellence, service, and contribution to the American experiment across culture, leadership, innovation, and civic life.

The Academy exists to confer recognition with permanence rather than popularity, and to preserve standards that transcend individual events, cycles, or moments.

AFAAS™ exists to safeguard the enduring principles of American civic and cultural excellence, stewarded across generations.

Its role is institutional stewardship — standards-setting, governance, and the recognition of enduring national contribution designed to outlast any individual, program, or event. 

The Academy oversees distinct, complementary recognitions presented under a unified institutional framework, including:

• America First Honors™ — invitation-only, lifetime recognitions conferred for enduring national legacy and civic-cultural impact.
   
• America First Awards™ — Academy-sanctioned recognitions highlighting exemplary national, civic, and cultural contribution, presented through structured public ceremony.
   

These recognitions are Academy-governed, non-competitive in posture, and standards-based, conferred with institutional restraint and independence.

The Academy’s inaugural recognition cycle is aligned with the 250th anniversary of the United States, marking a historic moment of national reflection and cultural continuity.

This cycle is intended to establish a long-term institutional foundation, not a one-off event — emphasizing meaning, stewardship, and legacy.

The Academy does not operate as a political organization, media outlet, or commercial awards producer.

Recognition is conferred independently of:

• political affiliation
• commercial influence
• popularity or spectacle
   

All recognitions are governed internally, reviewed through Academy deliberation, and stewarded with integrity, dignity, and permanence.
